The saw head does not slide smoothly up or down

CauseThere is not enough lubricant on the stainless steel posts of the saw head. SolutionApply dry lubricant to the posts. Note: Vallée Forestry Equipment recommends using Sinto MAXEP lubricant (part no.: SI-0003). Never apply grease to these posts.

The blade comes off the band wheels

ProblemThe blade comes off the band wheels.It is impossible to properly place the blade on the blade guides (blade too far forward or backward). CauseThe band wheels are not properly adjusted. One of the band wheels is loose

CauseThe band wheel bolt is loose. SolutionTighten the bolt (see Tightening and lubricating the band wheel bearings (p. 92)). CauseA bearing is damaged. SolutionReplace the damaged bearing.

The engine cranks but will not start

CauseThe fuel tank is empty. SolutionFill the fuel tank. CauseThe oil level is too low. SolutionAdd engine oil. CauseThe fuel tank hose is clogged. SolutionCheck the fuel tank hose and clean it if necessary. CauseThe engine carburetor is defective. SolutionHave the carburetor repaired; replace it if necessary.

Machine moves but has no high speed

Check whether the high/low speed control switch is loose. Check whether the solenoid valve, connector head, and coil are stuck. Check the high-speed circuit pressure.

There is not enough hydraulic pressure for the hydraulic tensioner (optional)

CauseThe hydraulic oil level is too low. SolutionAdd hydraulic oil. CauseThe tensioner seal is defective. SolutionReplace the tensioner seal. CauseThere are micro-leaks in the hydraulic system of the tensioner. SolutionInspect the hydraulic fittings of the tensioner system to find any possible leaks. Small balls of sawdust will form where micro-leaks are present.
