The Vallee Forestry Equipment adventure began in 1998 when Omer Vallee started operating a woodland patch in the small community of Saint-Denis-de-Brompton. While trying to transform his plot into a thrilling project, Omer faced a major problem: the sawmill offer was very limited on the market. To meet his needs and moved by his spirit of innovation, he modified and improved a basic machine, creating the very first Vallee sawmill.
In no time, this handcrafted sawmill aroused interest in the village. Without being his intention to sell his creation, a neighbor approached Omer and asked him if he could build him a sawmill as well. It is by word of mouth that the first Valle sawmills were sold. The machines gained popularity, and Omer now had a world of possibilities waiting for him. Originally without any plans of starting a career in this line of work since it was a hobby to him, he found his passion and followed this new path that laid ahead. This is how the Vallee portable sawmill was born. Omer, guided by a familial vision, but forward-looking, revolutionized the market. His sawmill became a symbol of innovation and ingenuity, carving itself out a special place in people’s heart.
Between 1998 and 2008, Omer conceptualized approximately 50 portable sawmills. In 2008, Pascal, Omer’ son, embraced the family legacy and joined his father’s side to ensure the posterity of the company. Pascal involved himself in this exciting project with boldness and determination. With his 10 years of experience and pushed by his entrepreneurial spirit, Pascal started Pascal Metal Inc., determined to broaden his father’s unique product offer. Pascal, a creative person to his core with an avant-garde vision, tried to blend distinctive component to its sawmills, therefore positioning the Vallee portable sawmills in a prime spot on the regional market.
As time went on, the Vallee portable sawmills continued to shine across Canada. The year 2015 marked an important milestone for the company with the signing of the first distributor agreement. It is not long after that, in 2017, that Pascal International Inc. was created, a company specializing in the importation and distribution of affordable forestry products. This step allowed Pascal to widen the company horizons and therefore gain important shares of the forestry product market. In the same year, Vallee portable sawmills broke through the American market with its first dealership in the United States.
Less than a year later, in 2018, Pascal Metal Inc. and Pascal International Inc. merged and became Vallee Forestry Equipment. This merge strengthened the corporate identity with a new branding including a new logo and colors, and supported by proud employees. The reorganization also gave more power to this company who was now importing, manufacturing and distributing several lines of forestry products. Vallee portable sawmills embody the success of a family-owned company which changed over the years to adapt with great finesse and with fluidity to the constant evolution of the markets.
Moving through the generations while successfully adapting to its changing reality, Vallee Forestry Equipment now counts more than ten employees and is supported by a wide range of dealerships based all over North America. Pascal Vallee along with his creative and passionate team continue to produce and sell thousands of portable sawmills in Canada and the United States. Powered by innovation while maintaining the quality of our products, we built a solid reputation throughout our history. Vallee Forestry Equipment proudly asserts itself among its competitors and is a staple in the forestry industry.
